eenie meenie minee mascara

I recently purchased some cheap mascara.  Target has it on sale and I snagged it up on the way to the check out.  What a horrible mistake!

You see, I had just run out of my favorite mascara.  I am a Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara kinda gal.  But my friend and Mary Kay rep just had a baby and I didn't want to bother her.
So I got home and used some.  Collagen enhanced and waterproof the sh*t doesn't come off.  Multiple face washings and eye makeup remover doesn't seem to help at all.  Gah, I hate it!!

I am dying to know, what is your favorite brand?

WW {Wax On Wax Off}

Before you get to the WW pic I wanted to tell you all that I am sorry I haven't been blogging a whole lot these days.  No inspiration I suppose...
I have been seriously slacking on commenting on other's blogs as well and I am sad about that.  I hope to catch up soon.

But on a lighter note:

Meet my new cleaning lady!
{magical h2o and a paper towel goes a long way}

Happy Wordless Wednesday!!

Just in case you were wondering...

Here is a few updates on my life happenings:

•See how my garden grows?
Everything is looking great.  My tomato plant has sprouted little flowers and my potatoes have large green leaves growing out of the dirt!  I can hardly wait till I start actually growing vegetables.  :)
You can read about the start of the garden here.

• Yesterday I stepped on the scale and it read 147.  If I lose 4 more pounds I will be at the weight I was when I first got pregnant with Blake.  I still have about 12 lbs to go till I am at my goal weight. I am happy that the L.B.s are dropping off and I was thrilled when I saw the number on the scale but I am a little scared.  I tried on the bridesmaid dress that I have to wear in August and it doesn't fit.  I have about 2 inches to loose in my chest to get the damn thing zipped.  uh oh...

•  Lila is still on the right path to being a {good girl}.  I would still say she has her devilish tendencies but they don't come out as much as they used to.  The corner is feeling a bit lonely these days...

Hold on a sec, I got a text...

Yesterday was Lila's first bike ride outdoors.
She got this Disney Princess bike for Christmas but hasn't broken it in properly.
She is still pretty small and doesn't really pedal but she still loves to be pushed on it.
We ventured out front and I was ready to see her go.

They were adjusting...

and fixing the back wheel...

OK!  Lets go!

Wait a sec Dad...

I got a text.

I am at a SHOCKING 99 followers
I can't really believe that all 99 people actually read my blog...
BUT its still pretty cool.
•I am not blogging for the popularity
•I am not blogging for money
•I am not blogging for anyone else but me.

Having this many readers has its perks though!
•I get comments.  I seriously LOVE me some comments!
•I get advice.
•I get to meet {via the blogger world} some very wonderful people.

Thank you ALL for reading my silly little blog.
It really means the world to me :)

returning angel

Those of you that read this blog regularly know that Lila has been a bit of a terror recently.  If you dont know what I am referring to you can read about it here and here.

Slowly but surely she is getting back to her old self again.
I think the fact that her brother was taking up to much of her momma's time was the culprit.  She would act out to get my attention.  Regardless if it was good or bad attention, she still wanted my attention.
Thankfully she has never taken it out on her baby brother.  She is a little momma to him and for that I am so greatful!
Let me tell you, its a HUGE relief to have my little girl back!!

We Reap What We Sow...

This weekend we finally got our raised vegetable bed put together!  With the expert help from our dear friend Chris, we finally got the ball rolling.  This is our first year planting and growing {hopefully growing, anyways!} vegetables.

I am SO excited.

We chose only the best veggies that we love to eat:
Romaine lettuce
Sugar snap peas
Squash
Zucchini
Cherry tomatoes
Broccoli
Potatoes
lots of Herbs too.

I dont have much of a {green} thumb but I think that I can get these babies growing!

We even have strawberries!

Wish me luck!

Eat This, Not That!

On a recent trip to our local library I came across a very, very interesting book. Eat This, Not That! The Supermarket Survival Guide. It claims to help you save 10, 20, 30 pounds with easy food swaps. The "No-diet" weight loss solution! So, like any sane person would, I had to check it out.

I literally couldn't put it down. For about an hour I sat there shouting out crazy nutrition facts to my husband about the food we choose to eat. Now, please no comment bashing after I tell you I have eaten most of the stuff on the Do Not Eat list.  Ick.

Anywhoo...

Here are some interesting comparisons and facts:

•Marie Callender's creamy chicken pot pie is the worst packaged food in America. At 1,060 calories 1,440mg sodium and 64g fat (24g saturated). Yuck!!!

•Twix is the worst candy bar at 280 calories 27g sugars 14g fat (11g saturated). The saturated fat equivalent is equal to 11 strips of bacon!

•Peaches are the most pesticide ridden fruit out there. Go organic with these if you can. Also apples, pears and strawberries are also good organic picks.

•Apple Jacks are a better choice then Apple Cinnamon Cheerios with 50 calories and 1 1/2g fat less.

•We consume 450 calories a day on average from beverages alone, nearly twice as many as 30 years ago. This increase amounts to an extra 23 pounds a year!!

I highly recommend picking up this book. It's fascinating and I am going to be taking this book with me when I shop next!
