caterpillar preschool

her own name tag!
What can I say, I was a nervous wreck on the first day.
The hubs was on vacation from work last week so he was able to come with us on the first day.  I thought that we would stay the whole time with her but slowly all the parents left and we were the only ones left.  I saw that Lila was doing just fine so I sucked it up and told her we would be leaving.  She asked if her daddy was going to stay.  I said, No honey he is leaving too.  I thought the worst but she just said, OK.  We gave big hugs and then headed home.
The anxiety really set in when we walked up to the house and she wasn't with us.  I mean, I have been with her 98% of her life.  So it was weird not knowing what she was doing and how she was.
We counted down the hours {2 to be exact} and then headed back to school to pick her up.
We peeked in the window and saw her sitting right in front of the teacher during story time.  She had a smile on her face and looked very happy.  That made me smile too.
As we walked in the door Lila looked up and ran to her daddy.
She gave him the biggest hug and then lost it.
She cried so hard.    She said she loved it and that she didn't want to leave.  But then didn't want her daddy to put her down.  The teacher came over and assured me that she had a wonderful time and that nothing happened.  I think we just have an emotional kid on our hands.  Overwhelmed with a new setting, having too much fun, and knowing that we actually did pick her up made her cry.  What a sweet little girl.

walking to school {day 2}

Day 2 was even better.  No hesitation, kissed me goodbye and not one tear when her daddy went to pick her up.  She loves it and can't wait for next Tuesday when she can go back.  I too am very excited for Tuesday because I get to volunteer in class.  That means I get to stay all day with an excuse!

She is adorable. I am a little torn about pre-school for Icie. I still have a year left to worry about it though. I'm glad Lila liked it!

It sounds like it went really well... and her being in preschool is good for the both of you. Good luck!

So cute. So emotional, huh? Day 2 was good for us, too. Day 1, not so much!

It is a weird feeling not knowing what she's doing. That's how I felt when I first dropped off my daughter last year.

Glad she did so well!
