pajama jammy jam

video
I took Lila to the Pajama Jammy Jam at the Airplay cafe this morning. She danced around and played with the musical instruments. It was adorable. "Mr. Ben" played his guitar, banjo and ukulele and sang lots of songs.

Its from 10-11am every Wednesday at the Airplay cafe on 7th and E. Burnside.
Check it out!

Sauvie Island

Spur of the moment trip to Sauvie Island Sunday with Grandpa. We stopped in at the Pumpkin Patch and had the little one run around for a little bit. We fed the goats, looked at the pigs and moo'd with the cows. We took a hay ride out to the pumpkins but we didn't get any. We are going to wait till mid October for that. And my favorite: a visit to the Fresh Produce Market. I stocked up on delicious strawberries and pears!

We will see you soon pumpkins...we will see you soon.

Love the strawberries!!

Thanks for going with us Grandpa D!!

seniors day

My friend who lives in Arizona is in town for a few days and we met up to go to the Oregon Zoo. Jaydin will be 2 in November and her youngest daughter is 6 months old. I asked her a lot about what to expect with 2 kids :) I hope I didn't bug her too much!
We had a lot of fun except for the fact that it was senior citizen day...and I am not being sarcastic. I think they all got in for free. Anyways, most were nice and all but we got in front of this crotchity old man who was yelling at us for not going faster! It was hell. So I suggest NOT visiting your local zoo when its the seniors day-they are either mad at you for getting in the way (my kid only walks so fast) or they have their electric wheelchairs or walkers and are not going fast enough. Luckily I ran into a few nice ladies who adored Lila and thought she was the most precious thing ever. That sort of compliment always makes it worth it...well most of the time!
Check out this totally cute polar bear. Napping right by the window. I just want to get in there and snuggle with him...These are the girls from right to left Jaydin, Amaya, and Lila. This is a new exhibit called the Predators of the Serengeti. Cheetahs, Wild Dogs and Lions were the main attractions. Its a really cool exhibit! Check it out!!

Strawberry Baby

I hate that I call it "baby #2."
So we will call it "Strawberry." That is the name that Lila has given the baby. Cute, huh?

Here is a picture of me...I just went ahead and took it of myself (lame, I know)...

I went to the Dr's for a routine exam today. The highlight was when we got to hear the heartbeat. A very healthy and strong heart! I had Lila and my sister with me. Thanks Tracy for coming along and watching my crazy kid!

P.S.
We have the 20 week ultrasound and will be finding out the sex of the baby next Wednesday, Sept. 16Th!! EEK I can't wait!

cutest cupcakes

We went to a birthday party for one of Lila's friends today and Claudia made the most darling cupcakes I have ever seen!
We ended taking Lila's home so I could have her nap before she ate it.
She woke up from her 45 min nap asking for it. Was she dreaming about it?
Must have!

our family weekend in a nutshell

Oh my, have we been busy. My husband and I went on a date to see my brother's band play at a really neat place called The Woods. I would suggest going there for the ambiance (it used to be an old funeral parlor). Very creepy in a cool way!! Then on Saturday we went to a birthday bbq with our close friends. It was fun and we all ate entirely way too much! Especially when it came to the delicious lemon cheesecake with brownie bottom. MMMM...
Sunday we had breakfast with my dad at a very good restaurant called the Bread and Ink Cafe on Hawthorne. One word. YUM. Later that evening we went to another birthday dinner at my sisters house. And to top it all off we went to the McMenamin's Kennedy School for Lila's first movie today! We saw Disney's UP. What a cute movie. It was family night at the theater and there were lots of kids and babies. So we didn't have to worry about Lila not sitting still or talking too loud. She did so well though! She even had popcorn for the first time :)
With everything that we did it was still a very nice and relaxing Labor Day weekend. I hope everyone out there in the blogging world had a nice one too!

Now its back to the drawing board on Tuesday...

Just go to bed!

Lila had a hard time sleeping last night. She was up every hour sneaking into our bedroom to tell us about something she heard. Whether its water dispenser on the fridge filling up, the animals making noise or the neighbors driving up and down the driveway she gets curious. "Whats that?!" She says. Its her imagination that is getting the best of her. While she plays with her toys and her dolls the wild imagination is a great thing but low and behold at night its getting to be a little out of control. Finally I pulled the bribery card.
"If you go to bed and get some good sleep we can go to the park, feed the ducks and have a picnic." I continued...
"The ducks really want you to get some sleep so you can play with them tomorrow."

If you don't have kids your probably laughing at this but it worked. She finally hit the hay and actually slept in!

So here we are at the park...just like I promised.
