Fantastic Friday

Happy Friday!!

Lila woke me up this morning by sneaking into our room and saying
"Good morning mommy, I slept goooood."
I rolled over, stretched and replied "I did too!"
Waking up to that innocence and sweetness just made me realize that I am going to make today be fantastic. The past few days and my last post was all stress and craziness and I am tired of waking up thinking that its going to be another one of those days.

Hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday too!

where did she go?

This last week has been a little crazy. The little miss is an angel one minute and a hell raiser the next. She threw her first tantrum at Joanne Fabrics yesterday all because she didn't want to hold my hand. She hits and tells me "NNNOOOO!" multiple times a day...
Any advice on how to handle my wild child? I need to do something fast because my nerves are shot!

Where oh where did my sweet child go??

homemade play dough

My dad called and gave me the idea to get some playdough for her to create with. So I looked online and found a great recipe for no-cook play dough here: http://underthebigbluesky.wordpress.com/2009/04/10/handmade-play-dough-recipe/

Seriously we sat outside for at least an hour and a half playing...

Day Trip

These are some photos from our spur of the moment beach trip. We drove down hwy 26 until we got to Cannon Beach :) It was such a gorgeous day! We flew a kite, built sandcastles, and buried ourselves in the sand. Then for lunch we had really good clam chowder at a place called Driftwood. Go there!! YUM.

We had a fun time. I hope to go back again soon...

here birdies birdies birdies...

Lila had a bit of a runny/stuffy nose today so I decided to keep her indoors for most of the day. I broke out the paints and decided to make a bird house out of a milk carton. I am very proud of our bird house. Its cute and I cant wait to put it outside! After Lila painted the milk carton I gave her sheets and sheets of paper to paint on because she wasn't ready to be done. But we needed some fridge artwork anyways :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday!

I am looking for some more things to do with Lila like crafts so if you have any good ideas for a crafty 2 year old let me know please!!

oh boy, what a drama queen

This was Lila's first boo boo that needed a band aid (but she didn't really even need it). She got a small scratch on her leg and didn't even notice till I pointed it out. It had the smallest amount of blood on it and I asked her if she needed a band aid. It was all downhill from there...

She sat on the bed and whined and whined and whined. She actually needed to be carried to the bathroom when she needed to go and limped when she was forced to walk. I don't know where she got the poor me attitude...probably Hannah Montana. She loves to watch the series on TV but that is another blog post in itself!
It lasted for about 10 minutes and then she got distracted and before we knew it she was running thru the house and the band aid had fallen off. And she had no clue it had happened. What a little princess...

starbucks?!

After her first night in her big girl bed, Grandma Sharon brought us Starbucks early that morning. But little did we know that she bought Lila her own "big girl" coffee. NO NO NO it really wasn't coffee...it was hot chocolate :)
She LOVED it. Not only was it chocolate but it was a big girl drink!

big girl bed

Friday night Mikey put together a toddler bed for our little Lila. She loved it right away but was hesitant when it was time for bed. We laid in her room with her for a while with the light out but it was more of a distraction to have us in there then anything. So we bit our lips, tucked her in, kissed her goodnight and left her in there. She cried for about only 20 seconds and then laid down and got comfortable. She slept thru the whole night! She has taken her naps and gone to bed at night with no problems at all. She is a ROCKSTAR!!
these pictures are from her nap today. i didnt get very good pictures the first night ;)

# 2 update

Just an update on the "baby in the oven"...

I went in for my scheduled dr's appointment today and I got to hear the heartbeat. 148 beats per min! I am only 14 weeks along right now but when the midwife was checking the size of my uterus and the baby she said that I might be farther along then we originally thought. By 2 weeks!! So that means that I could be 16 weeks along instead! Its not entirely 100% accurate though considering that its just by touch and not an ultrasound but we will find out when we get our 20 week ultra sound sometime after September 15th. I still need to make an appointment...
OH! And I can now feel where the baby is. He/She favors my right side and it likes to snuggle up over there a lot. I can't feel it move yet but I can feel where its at. I am sure that will come in the next week or so :)

all beat up...

Lila has taken so many spills running thru the house. She landed right on the metal piece that attaches the rug to the kitchen floor and now she has a bruise on her nose. She also decided that instead of taking a nap she would jump ship and climb out of her crib today! I heard this horrible THUD then my screaming child. My heart jumped out of my chest and I ran into her room and picked her up immediately. Luckily after a very extensive check she has no broken bones or major bruises or bumps. Just this sad rug burn on her forehead. I sware since she has turned 2 she has become a whole new person. A very daring and challenging little girl...

Has anyone else dealt with their child climbing out of the crib? Any good tips you can give me??
If you click on the pictures you might be able to see the marks better...

birthday pictures

Here are some pictures from the birthday bash. We had a cupcake pinata, gave coloring crayons and coloring books to the kids as a thank you gift, had a wonderful super yummy and affordable 6ft sub and I made lots of mini and regular size cupcakes for everyone. All in all it was a wonderful day! The weather was perfect and everyone was there to help celebrate :)
Unfortunatly I didnt keep my camera with me the whole time so I didn't get as many pictures of the birthday girl as I wanted...but she had a great time and thats all that matters.

Well her birthday party was a huge hit. She had non stop fun and got to play with all her friends and family. I am still working on getting pictures together but here is the birthday girl when things started winding down. She had cake and dirt all over her face!
