1st trip to the dentist

Lila had her first visit to see the dentist on Wednesday. She did SO well. I am so proud of her! She let the assistant clean her teeth with her toothbrush and she let her look inside her mouth with no problems. The only issue Lila had was when they laid her down to put fluoride on her teeth. She cried but said "AAAHHHH" and opened up really wide when they asked her to. She is really beginning to become a little girl and not my baby anymore...it makes me sad. The dentist said that her teeth look great and she has no cavaties :) yippy!

I felt like such a weird-o when I took out my camera and asked if I could snap a few of her getting her teeth looked at. But sure enough I am not the only nut-job out there that feels like they need to document EVERYTHING that happens in their kids lives! She told me that it happens very often. wheew!

firestation

Tuesday, with my playgroup, we all went and visited our local firestation. My friend called and set up an appointment for a small tour. It was a blast. Check out the cute pictures of Miss Lila. She loved it!

On Sunday, Mikey and Lila went out to work on his new truck. She was so curious when he laid down under it so she went along too. She started picking up his tools and banging the truck with them. Luckily it was underneath and not the body!

She likes to help daddy.

Lila is getting to the point that she can say pretty much anything. She repeats almost everything we say around the house and voices her opinion quite often. So I am thinking about getting rid of her list of words she can say. Its getting so long! I already got rid of her food list cause the girl eats just about everything. I added a list of her favorite things to do and now I need another thing to list out! ANY IDEAS FOR ME??

swim time!

At least once a week Lila and I have been traveling down to our local community center to partake in the preschool swim. Its for kids 5 and under with an adult with them at all times. Its SO much fun! We have gone 2 times so far and each one is different for her. Since she is walking she wants to walk in the shallow end where she can touch. I about had a heart attack when she pushed off my hand and said move. Cause there she went...fell head first into the water. She isn't the most seasoned walker anyways-she falls actually quite often but with the buoyancy and the resistance of the water she had a hard time at first. The second time I got a small life jacket for her. When she would fall she would immediately start floating on her back. I was relieved but she was getting tired of looking at the ceiling after a while. Then I showed her how to jump into the water and have me catch her. It was hilarious. She doesn't quite get the idea of jumping with her feet off the ground so she kind of just steps off the edge. She had a blast though and I got a great work out! There having a sign up for swim lessons March 2nd. I am going to get her into some so I can relax a bit while were around water :)

valentines day

At playgroup this week we had a late valentines day party. She got candy (which i ate :)) and silly sunglasses and some fake jewelry from her friends. After her nap she was walking around wearing the glasses-she was telling me to take her picture!

Lila passed out hello-kitty v day cards that had tattoos inside. I couldn't resist the urge to give my kid her first tattoo! So here it is. I was bummed when it came off in the tub a few hours later...

now i know it might seem a little early for a "big girl potty" but we thought it would be cool to get one now just so she can get used to having it around. she sits on it at random times while fully clothed but its pretty cute. thought i would share the sillyness!

Lately, Lila has been waking up and saying she wants to color. Its the first thing out of her mouth besides "momma, up please". So we have about 4 coloring books she got for christmas that are almost all full with her cute scribbles. Check 'em out!
