Today was a great day. Mikey took today off of work so spend it with his girls. First thing this morning we took Lila to her 1 year old check up. She weighed in at 17.6 lbs and is 27 3/4 in long. She is itty bitty but the Dr. said that she is still in the normal range so we shouldn't worry. And she also said that Lila is advanced with her vocabulary, since she is already saying so many words.
Then we walked around the Hawthorne area and had lunch and then came home and relaxed. When it was time for bed we were in her room and I was doing our bedtime routine and saying goodnight when she pushed away from me in the direction of her crib! She was ready to lay down and go ni-night.
I can't believe she is 1 years old.
sniff...sniff...sniff

oogie!
After Lila woke up this morning we were lying on the couch when the dog across the street started barking. She looked at me then looked at the front door and then said "oogie!" It was so cute. She is so smart :)

soy milk
Lila loves vanilla soy milk! I am so grateful and relieved. She was not interested in whole cows milk at all. She would actually throw her sippy cup when it was in there. That was pleasant ;)

stairs
Yesterday at Lila's Auntie's house she decided to be adventurous and climb the stair case to the second floor. And mind you its a very big stair case. 14 stairs! While I was climbing behind her she quickly crawled up all 14 stairs all while laughing because she thought I was chasing her. Then when she made it to the top she crawled rather quickly into her Cousin Kelsie's bedroom. Which is not the most baby proofed room, after all she is 13 :)
After catching her and taking her back downstairs she was determined to do it again...4 times! She was super tired by the time we left to go home. Now she thinks she is such a big girl...I am very happy that we live in a one story house because I was exhausted!

finally!
Lila is finally feeling much better. She broke her fever on Tuesday morning after 4 days of having one and today her stuffy nose is so much better.
I can honestly say that this was the worst cold she has ever had :(

ugh...
First thing this morning I took Lila in to see the Doctor because she had a temperature again last night of 101.6, was really really cranky and up all night because she was so uncomfortable. Our regular Dr. was not in today so we saw Dr. Brown instead. She was nice and was worried about poor Lila. So she took a blood sample to check for pneumonia (Lila hated this part) and she noticed that Lila's throat was a little red so she took a strep test. Boy oh boy Lila was not happy about that at all. But all the tests came back negative. I know that its a good thing but it also means that she just has a stinkin' virus.
ACK!! I hate colds!!

fever!
Yikes!
Lila had a fever of 101.5 last night with a runny nose. She was acting normal and still wanted to play but had a pretty high temperature. I gave her some Tylenol and she slept all night. This morning she woke up with only a slight temp of 100.4. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow then I will probably be taking her back into see her doctor. I don't know if its her teething or if she has yet another cold...

new happenings
Today was a very funny day. Lila started shaking her head back and forth in the "no" form. I asked her if she would like more breakfast and she would shake her head but then would cry when I took it away! Now I am trying to teach her the difference in the "yes" and "no" nods. But I have heard that kids love to say no :)
Lila is not walking yet. She is still really wobbly and walks like a zombie with our help. But I brought out her walker push toy today and she walked the whole length of our living and dining room, ALL BY HERSELF! I was so excited I ran to get our video camera (thanks dad!) and at that point she decided she was done. Hopefully next time I can get it on camera!

4th of July Fun
This year we decided to travel to the coast to visit some friends and to help celebrate a very special birthday for Audrina Mussuig.
We stopped in at Cannon Beach for the 15th annual 4th of July Parade. It was a lot of fun :) We had lunch with our friends Tony, Kristy, Dylan and Risley and walked along the beach for a bit. It was such a beautiful day!
Then we drove about an hour to Naselle, Washington to spend the night with our friends Tysen and Kim with their daughters Audrina and Ashley. Audrina had her first birthday party and we got to light off fireworks cause the cool ones are legal in Washington!
Lila did really good with all the loud booms. She didnt get startled once, even when she was asleep! Then after all the kids fell asleep we had a huge bonfire in the backyard and made smores...mmmmmm.

hot summer days
Since its been SO hot the last week we have been taking it pretty easy. Lila, Andrew (the boy i watch) and I met a friend at the Creston Pool last Monday. That was a lot of fun. Lila was floating around in her little baby inter tube. Of course I didn't bring my camera...too scared that it would get ruined by all the water. But she had a blast.
Here is a picture of her in our hot tub a couple weeks ago...
